Job Description
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Technician in the Glasgow Port area.
Shifts: 8-hour shifts. Morning, back and night.
Salary: £41,800 + 10% pension scheme.
Main responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Team Leader to ensure timely delivery, reduce breakdown times and work on continuous improvement, while maintaining compliance with all mandatory safety checks and tests.
- Ensure that all mechanical equipment adheres to current standards.
- Carrying out both scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
- Using diagnostic tools for fault detection to minimise the impact of reactive maintenance.
- Propose strategic decisions to the Engineering Team Leader/Manager to maintain the schedule.
- Show dedication to multi-skilled activities where suitable.
About you:
- Prior experience of maintaining heavy diesel plant and machinery in a robust industrial setting.
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- The ability to use diagnostic tools for fault-finding.
- Be willing to work at heights.
- Demonstrate dedication to working under safety regulations.
- Willing to commute between sites in the local area.
