Company Overview Join our client, a dynamic manufacturing leader near Larkhall, as they embark on an exciting journey with a recent £5 million investment in their site. We’re actively seeking a Controls Engineer working Monday-Friday (8:15am – 5pm, Friday 8:15-1:30pm. Role overview Create innovative automated systems that streamline production processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the manufacturing environment. Continuously evaluate and enhance existing automation systems to ensure they operate at peak performance levels, minimising downtime and maximising productivity. Collaborate closely with departmental leaders and teams to assess current automation capabilities and identify areas for improvement and expansion. Develop comprehensive project roadmaps for automation initiatives, aligning them with the strategic goals of the organisation to drive growth and competitiveness. Serve as a technical expert in control systems engineering, utilising your knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues. Write, test, and implement code to control automated machinery and equipment, ensuring precise and reliable operation. Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols and standards, ensuring that all automation systems meet or exceed industry safety regulations. Create detailed documentation for automation processes, including schematics, manuals, and operational procedures, to support maintenance and troubleshooting efforts. Provide training and support to operational teams and technicians, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to work effectively with automated systems.
