HR Manager Location: Gosport, Hampshire, or Garelochhead, Helensburgh The function: Our Human Resources Department is seen as a solution provider in all people related matters, both as a go to for management and by employees needing support. The role: We are looking to appoint a HR Manager to be based at our Head Office in Gosport, Hampshire, England, or at our OFD (Oil Fuel Depot) at Garelochhead, Helensburgh, Argyll & Bute, Scotland. This newly created role is to strengthen our capacity and capabilities as the organisation is now in a period of growth, including overseas facilities. It is responsible for supporting the HR Director in delivering a full range of HR services, in its broadest sense, across the organisation. This will include being the first point of contact for all HR – related queries, and provide timely effective day to day Human Resources and administrative support, as well as the tactical delivery of HR services to the business ensuring legal compliance. The postholder will need to have excellent broad based knowledge, and experience around HR best practice, including performance management, discipline, grievance, general HR Policies, and employment legislation, and be expected to contribute to maintaining positive employee and industrial relations across all levels within the OPA. The candidate: You will need to be degree qualified in HR or a relevant business subject, or qualified by experience. You are likely to be a CIPD member and have at least 5 years experience in a HR Manager generalist role. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with well-developed administrative and organisational abilities. Significant travel is required, and you will need to have a full (preferably clean) driving licence. International experience could be an advantage. The OPA operates similar to a private organisation, although we are a government agency, we would particularly welcome applications from individuals with private sector experience.
