About the roles
Business Strategy is an exciting area of growth for us, where we have been making a difference to many organisations across the wind industry. You will be a key part of our team in this space, working closely with our head of business strategy consulting. Our focus is on supporting suppliers and project developers in making strategic decisions about market strategy, supply chain strategy, technology strategy and market intelligence. We help clients to make high-value and high-importance decisions such as: whether and how to enter a new market, where to set up a new plant, or who to acquire or partner with to be more effective.
Elsewhere in the business, we focus on supporting project developers in auctions and economics, governments and others in seeking to grow the industry, and asset owners seeking to optimise their operating wind portfolios.
You will shape our approach to the market, win and deliver strategic advisory projects globally, and build our capabilities to deliver.
You will:
• Lead project delivery to clients, including client relationship management, project management, research, analysis and reporting • Develop business opportunities and maintain client relationships • Manage the work of other colleagues in the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget and potentially line manage others in the team • Shape and implement our own strategy, considering the services we offer, where to focus and how to engage with the market, globally • Shape our in-house tools and processes to keep BVG Associates at the cutting edge of strategic advisory services, especially our in-house market intelligence platform that powers much of our work, and • Work closely with other members of the team in a supportive, collaborative and dynamic working culture.
About you
We are seeking:
Experience:
• At least three years of work in a strategic role, gained either in a management consulting practice or other strategic role that demonstrates a strategic mindset and expertise in strategy development and planning • Plus at least three years of relevant experience in the wind industry (or similar infrastructure sector), within a project developer, supplier, consulting firm, enabling organisation or the public sector • A strong network of relevant contacts within the wind industry
Qualifications:
• Either a strong bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, finance or engineering or compensatory experience gained by working in the industry.
Expertise:
We are looking for Senior Consultants with some of the following expertise. What’s more important to us is that you can demonstrate the capability and intent to progress further to become a Managing Consultant.
• A proven ability and the drive to help senior client staff make the right strategic decisions and generate consulting sales • The ability to manage multiple concurrent, strategic projects, often short-term and complex, across multiple clients and geographies • Strong people management skills with the aptitude and ability to lead, coach and motivate highly capable team members to achieve their best • Some line management experience, with the opportunity to line manage one or more of our Consultants • Strong numeracy and analytical skills • Excellent English speaking and writing skills to communicate clearly and accurately • Good proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint • The ability to pick things up quickly, as every project and every day can be different • The ability to prioritise a busy and varied schedule and juggle different demands on your time
Aptitude
• Initiative and self-sufficiency to work in a small team • An aptitude for order, accuracy, efficiency and quality so that you can deliver to our high standards • Flexibility, focus and a hunger to learn, and • A drive to make a lasting, positive difference, accelerating the energy transition on a global level.
