Responsibilities
As a Land Manager, your primary duties include:

  • Managing, negotiating, and securing land rights for onshore wind, solar, grid services, and hydrogen projects within the portfolio.
  • Conducting tender processes and overseeing external consultants, contractors, land agents, and legal advisors in collaboration with the company’s legal and procurement teams.
  • Ensuring internal approvals for all property documents.
  • Assisting in due diligence activities related to land matters for acquisition and sale opportunities.
  • Supporting technology project teams and the broader business on various land issues and related matters as needed.
  • Staying updated on relevant industry topics through methods like attending events, responding to consultations, and representing the company in the industry.
  • Engaging in regular travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.

Requirements

  • Hold a law degree and be qualified as a lawyer in a significant Common or Civil Law jurisdiction.
  • Possess 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a relevant role, demonstrating sound industry knowledge and expertise in property law. This includes specialized experience in working with land agreements within the renewable energy sector and proficiency in reviewing and interpreting maps and plans.
  • Be well-organized, practical, and self-motivated, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines while delivering high-quality results.
  • Exhibit strong collaboration, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Display confidence, a personable demeanor, and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic team environment.
