Fundraising Manager £36,000 – £38,500 pa Fixed Term Contract 2 years Full time (flexible working options available) Edinburgh, Scotland/Home Based Closing Date: 5 November 2023 Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. This Fundraiser role will help secure funds from partners in Scotland, to support our work here (in Scotland) and across the world. In Scotland we stand side by side with children and families to challenge poverty and its impact on their lives. We want to support families to have enough money for a decent standard of living, reduce living costs and ensure every child is supported to learn and develop to realise their potential. We work closely with the communities we aim to support as well as a broad spectrum of stakeholders in government, across the third sector and in communities. Please note that this Fundraiser role will be based in Scotland. The successful candidate will have the option to work from our Scotland office/ from Home. About you As our Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating, growing, and stewarding relationships and networks with Trusts, Foundations, and philanthropists based in Scotland. You will ensure a tailored, inspiring, and personalised journey with Save the Children, working closely with the Scotland team to develop high-quality proposals for donors. By doing so, you will help secure crucial support and build sustainable relationships that yield income for our highest priorities, ultimately transforming the lives of children. In this Fundrasier role, you will: Conduct research to identify institutional donors, government funding opportunities, trusts, foundations, and individual philanthropists in Scotland. Actively drive new business by collaborating with colleagues to identify and assess new prospects, develop strong relationships, and seek networking opportunities. Independently manage a portfolio of donors, engaging them through various personalized and creative approaches, including face-to-face meetings, phone calls, events, and written/verbal communications. Provide excellent stewardship to engage and thank donors, devising and implementing stewardship strategies for trusts and foundations. Develop networks among donors and prospects to promote Save the Children’s work and grow trust opportunities. Produce high-quality written proposals, bids, concept notes, and applications for donors, tailored to inspire and captivate them. Provide insights and advice on the fundraising strategy in Scotland and advise on and support relevant fundraising activities across Wales and Northern Ireland. To be successful, it is important that you have: Experience of working in a fundraising environment (Trusts, Foundations and individual philanthropists) in Scotland or similar experience of working with potential high-level funders and supporters. Experience of managing high level external relationships, with excellent communication and influencing skills. Strong communication skills both face-to-face and on the phone. Excellent written skills, including development of compelling communications. Strong inter-personal, influencing and relationship building skills, and ability to work across teams to identify and build internal and external networks. Good numerical skills, including budgets, financial reporting and forecasting. Strategic thinker with good understanding of current trends in Trusts and Philanthropy sector. Understanding of Supporter Databases, data protection and fundraising best practice. Ways of Working: Remote First The majority of our roles can be performed remotely, however you may work from the office as often as you wish. Whilst you will be predominantly working from home, we may at times require you to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter). Note: This will be agreed with your Line Manager and team. This is intended to be time spent on collaborating with colleagues and relationship building.
