The company, headquartered in Livingston, Scotland, boasts a global presence spanning the USA, Middle East, and Malaysia. As an Independent Global Consultancy and Chemical Testing Laboratory, they’re dedicated to driving excellence in the international Oil and Gas Industry. Their specialisations include the qualification of production chemicals, drilling & completion fluids, and innovative production flow assurance support services.

The Role

Located at the Livingston laboratory facility, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising the company’s diverse portfolio of laboratory and consultancy projects for the oil & gas sector. You’ll be a driving force, ensuring that services, resources, and teams align seamlessly to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Operations Excellence: Skillfully manage daily operations within the Livingston facility, ensuring seamless work progress within budget and timeline.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Technical Specialists, Scientists, and Engineers empowering them to effectively manage their teams and projects.
  • Professional Development: Foster an environment of continuous growth, ensuring staff development aligns with the core business activities.
  • Cultural Catalyst: Cultivate a culture of motivation, engagement, and empowerment, inspiring individuals to excel.
  • Strategic Business Management: Departmental P&L forecasting and reporting responsibility; management of project costs and staff costs against budget; shape budgets, requirements and plans, while upholding ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards.
  • Resource Coordination: Collaborate with other regions to optimise resource allocation and project management.

  • Project Management: Familiarity with Project Management principles and techniques, including multiple project handling.

In addition, the points below would be considered a bonus:

  • People-Centric: Experience in people & culture development, with proven leadership skills.
  • Financial Literacy: Commercial experience in P&L, working capital, and capital investment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and ISO compliance.
  • Industry Insight: Experience working within the oil and gas industry is desirable.
