End Date Saturday 04 November 2023 Salary Range £41,715 – £46,350 Agile Working Options Flexibility in when hours are worked, Hybrid Working Job Description Summary JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer SALARY: From £45,054 LOCATION(S): Edinburgh HOURS: Full-time WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Sighthill North office Job Description About this opportunity We’re looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to be part of our Payments Services Platform and help achieve our mission to provide compliant and efficient payments capabilities for the Group and drive innovation to enable customers to move money confidently, quickly and securely. As a Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in driving quality software solutions into production. You ll be continually challenged, motivated, mentored and supported and help define Done from a Quality perspective and deliver Test solutions in line with the Test Strategy and our Quality Engineering principles. As an Quality Engineer, you ll: Work with an Agile team of colleagues from different fields to plan and implement highly effective testing to ensure excellent delivery quality to colleagues and customers. Exercise your T-Shape capabilities to develop and further improve the expansion of our Test Automation framework to deliver quality testing in a rapid execution timeline. Be part of the Quality Engineering (Automated Test Engineers) community to learn and grow individually but also working with others to help the community improve. Work collaboratively with the Product Owner as well as Engineers, Business Analysts and Scrum Masters to help building the feature team capability. What you ll need We re looking for someone who is technically literate, experienced in automated and manual testing processes, keen to learn, able to communicate well, with an interest in ensuring quality services are delivered for customers and colleagues. A willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job is crucial. Ideally, you ll have: Technical Experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer, understand how to implement and improve Software Quality Assurance Practices. Experience working in collaborative and agile teams. Previous work experience with Java, Springboot, Cucumber, Maven, BDD/TDD, Git, Jira/Confluence. Coding ability (e.g. Java) to support the creation and maintenance of automation frameworks. Experience in Testing Middleware/Microservices/API Platforms Previous work experience in quality engineering practices in both manual and automated testing, functional / non-functional coverage throughout the testing lifecycle (Functional, Non-Functional, Live Proving) Experience in defect management and documentation (all test deliverables within the lifecycle). And any experience of these would be really useful Knowledge of DevOps principles, practices and working experience with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud, Jenkins, Splunk, Dynatrace.
