Commercial Insurance Broker, Glasgow

Are you an experienced, technical insurance broker who is passionate about their career and ready to take the next big step? If you have a strong background in broking, with a focus on commercial insurance and a meticulous attention to detail, this role, with a salary to £42,000 should interest you.

This leading broker is looking for a technical insurance broker to join their established team based in the heart of Glasgow city centre. You will be working with a group of experienced professionals in a dynamic and fast paced environment, responsible for developing relationships with clients and insurers alike. Your primary focus will be on delivering excellent service to commercial insurance clients.

The role:

Provide broking support on all classes of commercial insurance including motor, property, EL, PL, commercial combined, D&O, cyber, etc.

Prepare quotations, handle renewals, deal with MTA’s, process market submissions and check policy wording.

Develop relationships with commercial insurance clients and insurer partners.

Work alongside Account Executives to offer the highest level of insurance brokering service.

Maintain and grow your book of mid to large size companies by chasing and securing new business leads.

Work on achieving both renewal retention and growth rates.

Gain access to the most competitive terms to meet your client’s requirements.

Visit with clients and build relationships.

Identify and act upon new business opportunities.

Keep up to date with industry regulations and guidelines.

The Person:

Minimum of 5 years commercial insurance broking experience.

Knowledge of mid to large size risks.

Skilled in handling new and existing business.

A strong understanding of most classes of commercial insurance including motor, motor fleet, property, EL, PL, commercial combined, etc.

Ideally, gained or working towards Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications, although support will be provided to assist in achieving these.

Acturis experience would be advantageous.
