We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Principal Building Surveyor to become a part of crbn solutions, the progressive consultancy arm of the Morris & Spottiswood group of companies. As a Principal Building Surveyor, your role will be pivotal in driving our mission forward. In this role, you’ll be entrusted with the management of various building surveying services. Operating within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, you’ll guide clients towards achieving net zero carbon. This involves technical inspections, feasibility studies, and carbon related matters. Working across diverse sectors like Education, Commercial, Housing, Finance, Public Sector, and Retail, you’ll deliver value-added solutions for clients striving to meet their net zero carbon objectives. Therefore, the ability to develop and sustain effective client relationships is crucial. You’ll excel as a team player, adept at collaboration, while also demonstrating the capacity for independent judgment. Your proficiency in communication, both written and verbal, is pivotal, especially as you engage in technical discussions and liaise with clients. This proficiency, coupled with your persuasive and professional approach, underpins your effectiveness as a Principal Building Surveyor. Your entrepreneurial mindset ensures that you proactively seek innovative solutions and capitalise on emerging opportunities. Over time, this role offers pathways to assuming higher responsibilities, including line management and mentoring emerging talent. What we re looking for Ideally degree qualified, or equivalent in building surveying – HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline with extensive experience in relevant field will be considered. RICS qualified or working towards. SKA accredited is advantageous. 8-10 years minimum professional experience in Building Surveying across a range of projects and sectors. Practical experience in carbon reduction from concept to completion with an awareness of whole life carbon. Able to take full responsibility for producing, checking and approving building fabric reports, and checking only of designs, drawings, and technical specifications. Ability to coordinate, liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders. Able to manage own tasks from inception through to completion and manage project risk. Commercially aware and financially astute with an ability to provide good concise commercial advice.
