We re looking for a number of Mechanical Technicians to join our client in the oil and gas industry on a 3 month contract with a high possibility for extension or to go permanent after the contract period. The role will be based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire. – Pay Rate circa £13.80 – £16.75 per hour Location: Kintore Duration: 3 months (high possibility for extension or to go perm) Work Schedule Details 39 hours per week; Mon-Thurs 07:00-15:30 & Fri 07:00-14:30 – What does the job involve as Mechanical Technician? As a Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, positioning parts for assembly as well as performing repairs, reporting quality issues of the day-to-day assembly and fitting of the full range of ISE product lines. You will support, improve and participate in on-time assembly of ISE products through specific techniques as well as innovative idea generation and efficient problem solving. As part of a team of manufacturing technicians you will dedicated to maintaining high quality standards and providing products that are expected to be right first time on time. – Operate designated machine safely and competently, ensuring that all HSE and housekeeping standards are maintained. – Carry out designated tasks as instructed. – Complete schedules, sequences and assignments for assembly line activities. – Carry out work instructions as given by Cell Leader, e.g. work specifications, equipment operation. – Monitor and control materials, products or equipment to detect defects or faults. – Maintain assembly line performance standards, e.g. by monitoring gauges, dials and other indicators. – Maintain quality and quantity of production. – Check work via use of gauges, visuals and measuring tools. – Maintain an organised / visual workspace (5S understanding). – Support key initiatives such as (on time delivery, schedule attainment, cost of quality). – Generate and implement improvement ideas and encourage idea generation among team members and stop work for safety, stop production for quality, and escalate concerns. – Be familiar with and use of proactive root cause problem solving (Fishbone etc.). – Evaluate current production estimates and outputs. – Carry out training in job-related skills for workers. – Enforce safety and quality regulations. What skills and experience do you need as a Mechanical Technician? Time served apprenticeship or HNC/ higher education in a relevant subject Working knowledge within an assembly & manufacturing environment including the preparation of components Ideally a background in a mechanical based profession Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook). Ability to operate basic hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Forklift and overhead crane certificates- desirable What is the pay for the Mechanical Technician role?
