Job Description

Job Title: Senior Procurement Professional

Location: Scotstoun and Govan

Salary: £35,000 to £44,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing established procurement contracts with Suppliers for a range of complex systems, ship equipment and commodities
  • Managing the supplier responsibilities to ensure delivery of agreed milestones to cost, quality and schedule
  • Timely identification of supplier risk and corrective action
  • Supporting contract change negotiations with suppliers
  • Investigating and resolving claims for delay or poor performance
  • Supporting cross functional project activities – e.g. weekly project reviews with suppliers, quarterly business reviews
  • Using the ERM system to manage Purchase Orders and other deliverables
  • Business reporting including KPI monitoring

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience of direct procurement in similar or complex industries
  • Experience of managing supplier end to end contracts
  • Awareness of legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreement
  • Supplier and stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills, able to challenge and negotiate

The Supply Chain Team:

The supply chain team delivers complex systems, ship equipment and commodities for Naval Ships across the UK Defence and International Programmes. The role will be situated within the Procurement realm, as a team player, you will undertake activities to support the Supply Chain Managers in the delivery of procurement contracts for a variety of ship equipment, systems commodities and materials.
