Job Description Summary

Software Engineer

Salary : £66,861to 78,004

Location:Edinburgh

Hours:Full time

Working pattern: At least 2 days per weekin our Edinburgh office

The Opportunity

  • Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and develops the capabilities of direct reports by working within existing development framework; provides specialised training or coaching in area of expertise to others throughout the organisation.
  • Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management programme with guidance from a project/programme manager.
  • Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working with colleagues and supporting teams.
  • Explores issues and/or needs to establish potential causes, related issues and barriers.
  • Defines, delivers, and adapts specialized products/services to meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
  • Analyses specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions.

What you ll need

  • Knowledge of SWIFT Messaging as well as installation and configuration of related software applications
  • Understanding and practical involvement in use of Cloud Solutions
  • Understanding and practical involvement in use and set up of DevOps
  • Understanding and practical involvement in design and creation of automation solutions

Optional additional skills

  • Working with Oracle databases
  • Scripting languages like SQL, Linux, Python or Java
  • Working with IBM MQ and Connect Direct interfaces
  • Working with RHEL operating systems
  • Automation tolling like Urban Code Deploy (UCD) or similar.
