Your new companyThe client is a UK-based financial services organisation that offers personalised investment management and wealth management services for private investors and trustees. They provide discretionary investment management, unit trusts, tax planning, trust and company management, pension advice and banking services. The client is one of the UK’s leading providers of wealth management services and, with recent acquisitions, has a fantastic history spanning over 200 years.Your new roleAs a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a key player in delivering successful business change projects across various domains and levels of complexity. You will have extensive experience of conducting end-to-end business analysis and design activities, and setting up and managing the scope and direction of projects. You will also be able to lead and mentor other business analysts, and ensure the quality and timeliness of business analysis deliverables.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the business stakeholders to understand their vision, strategy, goals and needs
  • Defining and documenting the current and future state of business processes and systems, and identifying the gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Developing and prioritising the business requirements and translating them into functional specifications and user stories
  • Collaborating with the IT team and other project stakeholders to design, develop, test and implement solutions that meet the business needs and expectations
  • Managing the project scope, schedule, budget, quality and risks, and ensuring effective communication and reporting
  • Providing training, support and guidance to the end-users and facilitating change management
  • Evaluating the outcomes and benefits of the delivered solutions and providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Establishing and maintaining the Business Analysis Approach and Plan (BAAP) in partnership with the Business Analysis Manager
  • Producing and presenting Requests for Procurement (RFPs) for external third-party suppliers when required
  • Reviewing and challenging the scope and timelines as well as raising risks and issues when necessary
  • Handling new business domains with confidence and adaptability

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Organise and facilitate requirements workshops and produce documentation
  • Explain complex scenarios in an easy and understandable way
  • Have extensive knowledge of process modelling techniques
  • Review and challenge scope and timelines, and raise risks and issues
  • Anticipate the consequences of situations, plan and adjust accordingly
  • Embrace and champion change, display a positive outlook and support agreed changes
  • Understanding how Service Design, UX and CX support Business Analysis Capability
  • Demonstrate a commercial understanding of the impact of change
  • Challenge the status quo and offer practical solutions to problems
  • Create an inclusive environment within the team, act as a positive role model for all
  • Have strong verbal and written skills
  • Secure approval for proposed course of action, build support for proposals, and manage expectations
  • Demonstrate credibility, pursue opportunities to learn and grow, and be wise counsel
  • Actively manage the baselining of documents and the associated Change Control procedure

What you’ll get in returnThe role comes with a salary of between £60 – £70k depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive overall package in line with what you would expect from other investment firms.
