Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

Reporting to the Manufacturing Planning & Scheduling Manager the Production Planner will ensure the effective, smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations. Production Planner will support production in ensuring readiness for execution by compiling all manufacturing process instructions and ensuring that tooling, equipment and materials are available at the work centers when required while also dealing with any related issues plus delivering continual improvement where appropriate. This role requires responsibility and accountability for developing and delivering the operational manufacturing plans, engaging with colleagues/third parties and providing credible up to date information to ensure efficient scheduling and execution of current and future business needs.

  • Will adhere to all Oceaneering’s safety policies & procedures, inclusive of Oceaneering’s Life Saving Rules
  • Communicate and engage effectively to all parties including conference calls, handovers and presenting to colleagues, senior management and third parties as and when required.
  • Will drive awareness and accountability of daily performance targets and will be accountable for achieving them and highlighting any issues that may prevent to the Manufacturing Planning & Scheduling Manager.
  • Will take ownership in highlighting to other functions (Execution Engineering, Quality Assurance, Process Engineering, Project Management and Supply Chain) any issues that will cost downtime.
  • Will highlight any issues and/or improvement areas, making recommendations as required, to improve production schedules and business efficiency.
  • Will highlight and help drive with the help of Process Engineering & Manufacturing management any improvements to help product quality.
  • Will be accountable to ensure they correctly compile all data within the Production Packages.
  • Will be accountable to ensure all checks are completed prior to releasing Production Packages to manufacturing.
  • Will assist fully with any QA nonconformance investigations to ensure correct problem statements are recorded and such matters dealt with expediently.
  • Will be accountable and take ownership to ensure material is available within the required time-frames on the production processes.
  • Will plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations, this will require physically checking materials at the work centers and warehouse daily.
  • Will ensure that all excess material will be accounted for and returned to the warehouse for returning to stock.
  • Will assist with planning equipment and material needs for job order.
  • Will have a positive attitude and constructive approach to work including flexibility to work alternative hours and/or shift rotations as and when reasonably required. Where possible adequate notice will be provided but dependent upon business needs, customer requirements and any constraints applying.
  • Will be able to both work effectively as part of a team and, where required, work using their own initiative.
  • Will be able to engage effectively with other colleagues and stakeholders including other departments and third parties as/when required to meet job requirements.
  • Able to consistently learn and develop both to meet or exceed the expectations of the current role and embrace future career opportunities within the company when appropriate.
  • Will be responsible for data updates/inputs to PeopleSoft system – creation and closing of PID’s within PeopleSoft in alignment with work breakdown structures, conforming to Project Management Processes.
  • Analyse and publish Material and Labour Report on Actual versus Plan to appropriate functional departments WIP report available on request. Provide details of positive and negative variations.
  • Process labour hours from Manufacturing.
  • Responsible for the creation of Material Stock Requests for every Scope of Supply and ad-hoc PIDs to ensure MRP accuracy.
  • Attend PeopleSoft Core Team WebEx meetings as required
  • Take ownership and accountability of housekeeping throughout the area. Production Planner will start, work and leave in a safe clean environment.
  • Ensure any breaches in standards, wellbeing matters and/or training requirements for any of the team are highlighted to Manufacturing Planning & Scheduling Manager.
  • Help develop, Mentor and Assess current and future personnel.
  • Will consistently display required levels of engagement and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude while consistently supporting Oceaneering’s culture of Safety, Quality, ongoing learning and continual improvement.
  • Undertake any other roles as required in order to support business needs

  • HNC/HND or third level qualification in Materials Planning or a related subject
  • Experience with MRP and working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to plan work and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of working with PeopleSoft or similar ERP Software
  • Knowledge of working with Primavera P6 or similar planning Software
  • Some knowledge of a Manufacturing background required but not essential
