Job Description

Here at Harvey Nash our well known Glasgow based client is looking to recruit a Senior Network Engineer to provide operational day-to-day support for Network Services, including wide area, local area and wireless Networks.

You will act a regional point of contact for the business during your online day, and provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to other team members, regionally and globally.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of defined Network Services to support the clients business to agreed service levels and in collaboration with vendors where applicable.
  • Manage the technical resolution of assigned Network problems, incidents, issues and emergencies with third party vendors, and liaise with Service Delivery Managers to ensure stakeholders are kept informed of incident status.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configuration updates, ensure vendor recommendations on code levels are tracked and build processes to ensure compliance with CISO/SecOps patching requirements.
  • Engage in the development of automation initiatives in the Network space, including NetDevOps delivery and Scripting platforms, version control solutions and associated capabilities.
  • Provide 3rd/4th level support and troubleshooting to resolve issues regionally and globally, supporting junior colleagues and colleagues in other regions, and be a point of escalation for colleagues globally.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to accept delegated project delivery authority and lead functional teams, plan tasks for colleagues and ensure successful project deployments across multiple regions.
  • Experience of delivery using IT infrastructure management practices & standards, ITIL/ITSM principles and practices, & change management in large environments.
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting Cisco NGFW/ASA Firewalls, Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco ISR Routers, Cisco Wireless
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting Azure Cloud Networking solutions
  • Experience using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting Meraki MX, MS, and MR product lines
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting VPN/IPSEC networks, including Remote Access VPNS and Site-to-Site VPNs
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting networking technology including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLAN, Proxy, RADIUS, OSI Model
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting networking protocols (IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, 802.11, QoS)
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting security platforms, including Cisco NGFW/ASA, Sourcefire and Firepower equipment, FMC, ASDM and Splunk tool
