Senior Electrical Design Engineer
1 day per week in the office, Edinburgh
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum
Explore group have partnered up with a global innovative energy company who specialises in creating grid edge digital energy platform. They are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Scottish team where you will play a key role in our new product development team. From concept generation to detailed design and prototype build, through to deployment on the grid and series production, you will be an integral part of our mission to create the next generation of electrical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products from concept to production.
- Lead the electrical design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, ENA, NEMA, and others as relevant.
- Utilise CAD tools to create and refine electrical designs.
- Contribute to technical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Drive continuous product improvement initiatives, optimising performance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations throughout the product development process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in electrical design, including schematic design, component selection, and PCB layout.
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (IEC, IEEE, ENA, NEMA, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
