A leading Scottish based digital solutions provider are looking for a skilled Scala Developer to join their Glasgow based squad (although they are offering fully remote working for this role).

They are a well-established company, operating successfully for over 20 years now and are respected as one of the “go-to” consultancies for the services. They use modern technologies to create large-scale platforms, so if you’re passionate about using the latest tech and tools you’d be a great fit here.

In terms of who you’d be working with, they already have an experienced technical team of around 20 employees. Consisting of Front End developers, Full Stack developers, Designers, Testers and Scrum Masters. They’re hoping for a developer that can hit the ground running so ideally, they’re looking for someone with a solid amount of commercial experience.

Ideally, you’ll have a few years of commercial experience with Scala, as you’ll be working with this daily. You’ll be getting involved in all aspects of the SDLC, from discovery to delivery, so experience of this will be beneficial as well. They adhere to modern methodologies such as Agile and Scrum, so experience with these approaches is helpful.

You’ll have commercial experience with the following;

* Scala (or Java)

* DevOps tools (Terraform)

* AWS

* Digital Preservation Platforms

Experience with the following would definitely get you some bonus points;

* GIS or Geospatial file formats

* JavaScript

* Front End experience (Javascript)

They’re based in central Glasgow; however, they work mostly remote. The salary on offer for this role is £60k – 65k on top of a good list of benefits, the company also help create tailored career plans for each employee and can offer loads of scope for career progression.
